Dupont Delrin is a great plastic for turning on a machine lathe. It’s easy to turn, but it requires slower speeds. I have used this plastic to make Scottish small pipes chanters. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are quite durable and easily machinable, as they have very similar physical properties. They do appear similar, but in practical uses there are a few differences that may make one preferable than the other. It also depends on your application. As with any plastic materials, make sure to check the typical properties data sheet for the applicable properties you may need for your application.
